Include: patients at increased morbidity/mortality from a time-sensitive condition being moved to a higher level of care, when other transport is not appropriate, safe, or timely.
Exclude: non–time-sensitive or stable ICU transfers, discharges/lower-level-of-care moves, specialty-transport-only needs (e.g., bariatric) without high acuity, and patients remaining under a specialty team’s care.
